In 1981, Dan Koch and Fred Bender decided to retire from racing and start B&K Metal Fab Inc. They began by building aluminum stock car bodies for local drivers in their shop, and eventually added a truck to sell parts at the track. Later that year they added a second truck and trailer.
In May of 2000, Dan passed away suddenly. Long time friend Terry Pribbnow helped out by taking over the second truck for the rest of the year. At this point Fred found the work too much for one person, and decided to retire one of the trucks. Eventually Tim Hasuleu joined the company, and now B&K is once again able to offer a wide range of services.
